I was looking at all the requirements that you need to get married out of the US, and its really crazy. Do you think it would be a good idea to get married at the city hall and sign the license a week before going to Saint Lucia? Do you know anyone who has done this before having a destination wedding?

OK but your official wedding date will be the city hall date – not the Destination date.
How about a small, simple ceremony with your friends et al here in the states – and just honeymooning in St. Lucia instead?
