We have an exchange student staying with us from Guadeloupe. She is trying to call home and we cannot get the numbers to work. Any suggestions on placing calls to this area? or where we can find answers?

You have to dial the international access code … 011
Followed by the country code for Mexico … 52
Followed by the 2-3 digit long distance code for the city
Followed by the 7-8 digit local phone number
If you’re calling a mobile number in Mexico, you have to include a 1 after the 52.
Or, you can call the operator and have them dial it for you. But, they charge for this.

I have been there twice over a space of many years. It looked clean, modern , seemed family friendly and was not over run with tourists.

Well, i live in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda is literally like just over the river so it doesn’t really matter. I gotta say though, all PC has going for it is the cultural center near the library, and the mall. PG has the charlotte performing arts center (near the high school) and many other things that i don’t know about because i don’t live there, but the mall in PC balances the scales. Either way, there’s old people everywhere. Of course you could always come to PC to see me!! lol

Question by MB: Does anyone else think that Isla Mujeres is the most disappointing place on Earth?
My wife and I recently visited Isla Mujeres, Mexico as a day trip on our honeymoon. It was the most miserable place I have ever been. It was a filthy tourist trap and worst of all YOU’RE STUCK THERE. We went for an 8 hour visit and we were ready to leave within 30 minutes, but we couldn’t leave because we were with a large group. Does anyone feel my pain?

Wow, i googled Isla Mujeres and i read the reviews. They make it sound soo exciting and wonderful. I guess its a scam. But other tourists thought it was fun. Unless they work work for Isla Mujeres.
