Latin America Trip – Transportation Issue?
Question by Yitzhak K: Latin America Trip – Transportation Issue?
I am going to Costa Rica (staying in San José for 6 nights, taking a day trip to Arenal, then flying to Quepos and going to Manuel Antonio for 1 day), then I want to fly to Roatan, Honduras. I want to spend 1 day in Roatan, but then I want to go to Cayos Cochinos, but how do I get there from Roatan? After Cayos Cochinos, I want to go to Utila, and then to La Ceiba. After I finish up with Central America, I want to head over to Mexico City, spend about 10 days in Mexico City, then go to Aruba for about 4 days, and then finish the trip up with Puerto Rico (6 days in San Juan, a day in Vieques, and a day in Fajardo). I have major transporation issues with this trip.
I need flights (or trains, or whatever is best to-from)
to San José (not an issue, there are regular flights to there from where I live)
San José to Quepos (I’m going to Manuel Antonio, but there is no airport there, and Quepos is only 20 minutes away)
Quepos to Roatan
Roatan to Cayos Cochinos
Cayos Cochinos to Utila
Utila to La Ceiba
La Ceiba to Mexico City
Mexico City to Oranjestad
Oranjestad to San Juan
San Juan to Vieques
Vieques to Fajardo
Fajardo to Washington DC
How do I do this???????????
Thanks

you are doing a lot of zig-zags and back tracking…i do n ot see the logic in much of your plans. you will be spending lots of cash and enjoying so little of your experience. For example, 1 day at Roatan? No offense, but like much of your itinerary, this is a ridiculous idea.
There is no true glory in creating a long list of stops on your trip if you do not actually experience the places you visit.
make it easier and more pleasant for yourself. Read up on the places you wish to see and then choose from among them, giving your self a minimum of 2-3 days or more at each place, skipping some of the list entirely.
there is a wise saying that goes:
see what you look at
Listen to what you hear
you won’t be doing any of these things if you stick to your travel plans.
